Atletico Andalucia CF Head Coach Mike Share Leaves For Canada

18th May, 2010.

Atlético Andalucía CF can confirm that Head Coach Mike Share has resigned from his position to take up an offer from North American club. Share who has been in charge of Atletico Andalucia CF since September 2009 will be heading to Canada to join Ontario United FC as player-manager.

Share joined Atlético from American National Premier Soccer League side Buffalo City FC where he led the team to second place in the Eastern Keystone Conference only losing two games in the regular season.

Share who has had two different spells in charge of Atlético Andalucía CF led the club to a combined 11-3-9 record. Share went on to make three appearances as a player, scoring on his debut and recording 3 assists in as many games.

Share said "I firstly want to thank the club and players for all of their support through out the season, to say that my time at club has been a learning experience is an understatement. It´s been a difficult season with the on and off the field problems but I think that my time at the club will serve me well in the future. I would have loved to have brought more success to the club but sadly I was not able to do so when in charge".

When asked if Share was not tempted to stay another season in Europe with the club he went on to say "I am very proud to have managed Atlético Andalucía CF even though my time in charge will not be seen by many as a success. I feel to take on a new challenge join Ontario United Footbal was the best move for me not just career wise. After the loss of my father I felt that when the opportunity came about to join the club that it was not just the right step for me personally but also for my family. It will give me the time to work on the project while still being able to spend much needed time with my family. l also believe that in the future both Ontario and Atlético can benefit from my move to Canada."

Senior player Salvator Lopez Espada will be approached to take charge of the club as Atlético Andalucía CF plans to prepare for next season.
