Atl Marbella Defeat Injury Plagued Atlético Andalucia CF In Friendly8th August, 2010
Atlético Andalucía CF kicked off their first pre season game for the 2010-2011 season. Coach Share had only 13 fit senior players available for the game against Atlético de Marbella due to injuries.

The injury plagued Atlético started the game well and were on the score sheet on 14 mins when a well worked ball found Salas who calmly slotted the ball past Marbella´s goalkeeper May.

Atlético de Marbella quickly replied when a Oscar chipped Sergio from 20 yards on 28 mins. Atlético Andalucía had several more opportunities to take the lead before the break but sadly could not take their chances as the first half would end level.

The second half Marbella would take full advantage of their 22 player squad as they changed all 11 players who started the 1st half. Atlético Andalucía would only make two changes. Atlético Andalucía looked again the better team with two great chances but after 10 mins a bad mistake by the Andalucia defence would allow Angel to shoot on goal from close range to make the score 2-1 for Marbella.

With the game looking to stay at 2-1 Share changed the formation of the team in search of a equalizer. Andalucia thought twice they were rewarded but both goals were wrongly disallowed for offside. The team would concede one more goal on 80 mins on the counter attack when playing with only three defenders, three midfielders and four forwards. The game would end 3-1 to Marbella.

Atlético Andalucía CF's Head Coach Share said "Despite the result I was pleased with our performance, it looks like we are finally taking information onboard. I felt we made small mistakes that can easily be cut out of our play and we will work on them on Monday. I felt we were the better side and considering we only had 13 senior players available due to injuries it made the second half difficult to play especially as the other team changed their whole 1st half team. All on all I was very happy with my team and sometimes a lose can still feel like a win. It really made me learn a lot about my team and after the game I have even more confidence in my players and I am sure against Benahavis on Tuesday we will not just play well but that also the result will be different".

The club will play Benahavis on Tuesday the 10th and of August 8pm kick off in the Benahavis stadium. Atlético will then face Estepona CF Preferente on Saturday the 14th of August at 6pm kick off in the Francisco Munoz Perez stadium.
