Davey Stars As Atlético Andalucia CF Beat Estepona CF In Friendly15th August, 2010

Atlético Andalucía CF played their second pre season game in as many days when they took on Estepona CF Preferente at Francisco Munoz Perez stadium in Estepona.

Coach Share choose only 13 senior players for the game. Atlético started the game well with Fabian Sanchez hitting the crossbar after only 2 minutes played.

The team would keep attacking but their luck would turn for the worst when Angel Blanco Sanchez went up for a header and fell awkwardly on his arm. Later the injury was confirmed as a broken arm which will keep the forward out for a considerable time.

The injury forced Share to change his formation with Robby Davey coming on and Share brining himself on 5 minutes later to partner Davey up front and playing with a 4-4-2 formation instead of Share´s preferred formation 4-5-1.

The changes worked instantly with the two substitutes combining with Alberto Salas who played a ball wide to Davey who shot from 20 yards out to make the score 1-0 to Atlético.

The joy was short lived as within 10 minutes it turned into disappointment when Estepona scored from close range from a well worked one two on the counter attack.

With 5 minutes left in the first half a quick free kick by Mike Share found Davey perfectly in front of the goalkeeper where Davey calmly slotted in his and the clubs second to make the score 2-1 to Atlético Andalucia CF.

In the 2nd half Atlético Andalucia CF looked to play a high tempo game with Share playing in Francisco Becerra on three separate occasions which Becerra could not convert.

Atlético Andalucia CF kept pushing forward with Alberto Salas switch up front and Francisco Becerra playing wide left. The change nearly instantly worked when Alberto Salas came close to increase Atlético Andalucia CF´s lead.

Share himself had three great chances to further Atlético´s lead the first was wrongly flagged offside when Share was one on one with the goalkeeper. The referee later apologized to Share saying he made the wrong chance. The second Share was played in the box by Correa but with the goalkeeper coming out Share could only squeeze his shot past the post. The third chance game with only 10 minutes left when Share took down a diagonal ball and tried to chip the goalkeeper who was coming off his line, sadly the ball came off the goalkeepers chest for the game to end 2-1 to Atlético Andalucia CF.

Atlético Andalucía CF's Head Coach Share said "I don´t know what to say, I am dissapointed with our performance. Our midfield still has not responded to what needs to be done and next week I will take drastic action to make sure we are ready for the season. We have the quality to play well but what good is it if the players do not apply themselves with the information and objectives I set out for them individually and as a team. After Thursdays game we will not have anymore pre season games in till we have worked out all of our problems and I think it worth playing another game. We will invest our time now where I think we need it the most as it´s my responsibility and the current performances also reflect badly on me".

The club´s next game is against Benahavis on Thursday the 19th of August with the game kicking off at 8:30pm.
