Atlético Andalucía Add To Team As Several Players Refuse To Play
22nd October, 2010.
Atlético Andalucía CF is disappointed with how several of it's players have conducted themselves. Five players refuse to play for the club which left the club with only eleven fully fit players to face Manilva. Atlético Andalucía CF currently has the smallest squad in the league with Richard Sutcliffe and Oumar Salif Traore both needing an operation on their knee injuries. On Monday Coach Mike Share added four new players to strengthen the team.
The four players Share added to the squad are Goalkeeper Sergio Mendes who was previously at San Pedro, Columbian José Alejandro Valbuena Cortés from Las Chapas, Argentinian defender Javier Castellano from Benahavis. The fourth player that will strengthen the team is midfielder Salvador Lopez Espada who previously played for Atletico Marbelli and Monda.
Share who first commented on his new signings said "Firstly I do not want anyone to think that we signed the following player out of necessity. It's true that we have had move swiftly to add to the team because the players that refuse to play for the team but make no mistake that all four players that we have signed have the quality to make the team better. I am sure in time it will show that we will be a stronger side then before".
The players in question who refuse to play are goalkeeper Carlos Moreno, forward Angel Blanco Sanchez, defender Fabian Sanchez and midfielders Alberto Salas and Javier Arenas. All four players are looking for a move away from the club because of what Atlético Andalucía CF Coach Mike Share calls "unprofessionalism". A fifth player Swedish defender Christopher Tore Sjostrand also has left the club.
Coach Share said "In all of the years I have been in football I have never seen or expierenced anything as I have done in the last three months at this club. I think it's important to keep some things private within the club and that's why I have never commented on anything that has been happening behind the scenes but after the latest soap opera I feel that I need to be honest. The club has had many internal problems without going into detail and this is one of the reasons behind the poor start we have had in the first two games. Four players have now come forward and feel that they do not want to continue to fight for the team, it shows how unprofessional they are. Players need to be willing to work as a team and not as individuals. It's easy to walk away and not fight when things are not on the up. It's even more frustrating when we have picked up four points out of the last six points. I know the club will not release them so if any other clubs want to sign them then they are more then welcome to them if they pay the correct fee".
The latest revelations left Coach Share with only eleven fully fit players prior to signing four new players this Monday. The club will look to still sign several new players in the coming month.
Share went on to say "We will continue to fight and we have already strengthen the team with players who are strong enough to work for this club in a team environment. I feel bitterly disappointed for the players who are at the club as the four players really have let them down but we will bounce back from this disappointment stronger and hopefully it will not take long before the team will gel together with the new additions to the squad. In the long run I am sure it will".
You will be able to see this Saturday at 5pm how the team and it's new additions get on against one of the league favourites Manilva at Arroyo Primera.
