Atlético Andalucía CF Throw Two Points Away Against CD Bonela

9th October, 2010.

Atlético Andalucía CF kicked off their second home game of 2010-11 campaign, the club faced CD Bonela who lost their last game 1-0 against first placed Atletico Marbella.

Atletico received bad news before the game with confirmation that Mali forward Oumar Salif Traore needs a operation on his knee. Traore is the second Atletico player this week who will need to undergo a knee operation. Unlike Richard Sutcliffe Traore might still return in early March to play some part in this season.

Atlético Andalucía CF started the game against Bonela bright and had most of the possession in the first 10 minutes.

After 15 minutes a ball was played wide into the box that put Ismael Lledo Flores one on one with the Bonela goalkeeper Ivan. The Bonela goalkeeper came of his line when Flores took his shot, the ball deflected of Ivan across the goal which fell kindly for Flores's strike partner Angel Blanco Sanchez who gave the home side a 1-0 lead. In the build up of the goal Flores injured his eye and he would later be taken off because of the injury sustained.

Atletico's first half attacking play would continue but the home team could not double their lead which would later in the game haunt them.

The second half Share pushed Davey up front instead of Flores while bringing on Swedish defender Sjostrand. Atletico would continue their attacking play and were dangerous every time a long ball was put into the box. In the end Atletico could not finish their chances and the game would take a big turn in the 80th minute when Alberto Salas Ramirez would bring Bonela's Javier Gonzalez Carvajal down just inside the box. From the resulting penalty Carvajal would level the score to 1-1.

With five minutes left things got even worst for Alberto Salas Ramirez who got a straight red for assault on a Bonela player. In the last 5 minutes Atletico continued to push forward and Javier Escobar Arenas would have the best two chances when twice through on goal he hit his shot just wide. The game would end 1-1 with Atletico currently 5 points behind the first place Athletic Fuengirola but with the first place team having a game in hand.

Atlético Andalucía CF Mike Share said "I was very dissapointed. Old habits die hard and that was today's case. I feel that we have wasted again a great opportunity to pick three points up, we had all of the possession and to give another penalty away in the last ten minutes is just poor. We will work hard this coming week as we got three massive games coming up against Manilva, Marbella and Balazo Alozaina. I think after those three games it will give us a good indication how the season will turn out. So we got three cup finals coming up".

Atlético Andalucía CF will be home for their next game on the 23rd of October against Manilva who currently are joint first with Athletic Fuengirola.
