Atlético Andalucía CF Banned For Six Months Due To Irregularities23rd January, 2011

Atlético Andalucía CF is disappointed to announce the club has been suspended till the end of the season because of irregularities . The Spanish Football Federation has suspended the club from league play for 6 months. The club will be able to compete again in 2011-2012 Spanish season.

The suspension will give all of Atletico´s players the right to cancel their playing contract and sign for other interested teams. Any clubs interested will not be required to play any fee for the players contracts.

Part of the suspension will see Atlético Andalucía CF ineligible to field a youth team for the next 18 months in till the 2012-2013 season. Although Atletico is very disappointed the club fully accepts the punishment and will now look to rebuild for the 2011-2012 season. One of the reasons for the club suspension was not being able to field enough players on 19th of December and on 8th of January, both occasions were due to players strikes.

The club is pleased to announce that Coach Mike Share has confirmed that he will stay with the club in till the end of the season and will play an instrumental part rebuilding for the upcoming season.

Coach Share said prior to the announcement "I has been a very difficult season especially behind closed doors I have tried to keep things private. Although it will seem a real set back that the club can not compete anymore this season I feel that the suspension will really benefit the club to get everything in order for the upcoming season. I also feel that now everything is in the open that it shows what a difficult job I have had and that it was impossible to achieve our goals in the current state the club is in. I never experienced anything like this in my career but I can not stress enough that I am still fully committed to the club at least in till the end of the season so that we can get everything in order and restructure the club. Maybe it is my chance to be let to do my job so that at the end of the season we can sit down and see what the next best step is for the club and for myself. At least I will know that come the summer even if I decide to leave the next person who will be given my job will not experience the same problems as I have and will be able to take the club forward".

Atletico Andalucía CF will still compete this season in arranged International Friendly games Starting with this coming Saturday against Dutch Side SCN Nieuwlande. More information will be available regarding the games time and location. Please be sure to check back next week for more information.
